neko = cat
kuroneko = black cat
so by (non-mathematical?) induction, meganeko = BIG FAT cat
(think megabyte, megawatt, etc)
& then it was directed to this....*sheesh*!
all along it thought Megane = Renault model....
& then it found this blog entry.
& then it came across this in a copy of TODAY on e kitchen table:
At a girl who wears glasses?
Well, they make even fewer
At a girl who surpasses!
- Catherine Lim
*LOL* e cat almost laughed its whiskers off =P
brings to mind e time when it was told:
....that one of e smartest girls from its school ('jeep' + international olympiad + IQ that hit e roof + most prestigious government scholarship + another government scholarship + 'Made In Thailand' doctorate + faculty position in a university that counts Dulbecco of DMEM, Linus Pauling, Morgan of 'centimorgan' & Feynman among its cartload of Nobel Laureates) married a Taiwanese-American....
....& that some deem this e best option for local 'girls who surpass' - 'marrying out', instead of 'marrying up/down' (strange terms that humans use....to e cat, 'marrying up/down' = marrying someone taller/shorter =P). reason being that e little red dot seems rather bereft of decent guys who have enough healthy confidence in themselves to not be intimidated by such girls. & e sad fact that many of e few guys who appear unintimidated by such girls turn out to be more than a little too delusional about their sense of self-worth. & not to mention potential parents-in-law who recoil in horror at e prospect of a precious son 'marrying up'. no wonder most of e cat's 'unavailable' schoolmates from that school, as well as e worm-class university that it attended, are attached to 'outsiders'....a 'new' way to quit Singapore (matrimonially) that was not(?) mentioned in that infamous stayer-quitter debate? =P
....& that some believe people like her are what forced e cheng hu to backtrack on its MCP-ish no-automatic-citizenship-for-kids-of-Singaporean-women-with-foreign-husbands policy, given their belief in smart parents = smart kids (& that women-with-less-than-3-GCE-O-level-passes should be 'strongly encouraged' to have less kids) ;) we are happy for that change, & for her =))
