The depiction of hell includes the thorn-covered 'dton ngiw' (ต้นงิ้ว) tree that the adulterous are condemned to climb, the kratha thongdaeng' (กระทะทองแดง) cauldron of boiling copper, & a figure with a head of an ox...reminds one of 'Ox-head' (niu2 tou2 牛头), one of the Chinese guardians of hell. Wonder if this is one detail in the depiction of hell that Theravada & Mahayana Buddhism share?
