fur conditioner

colleagues & friends who like to sniff freshly-washed cat fur, be prepared for a change in scent when e cat's current stockpile of Lavenus fur conditioner runs out. e brand has already been discontinued for over a year, & e last shop e cat knows that carried it has finally sold e last of it....

worst comes to worst, maybe e cat should just cook up its own version of Lavenus with apples (malic acid), unripe grapes (tartaric acid), fermented milk (lactic acid), sugarcane (glycolic acid) & oranges (citric acid), since e important bit about conditioners is e acid content to neutralise e alkalinity of shampoo?

meanwhile, e cat has been experimenting with alternatives, but none have come close to matching e magic potion of Lavenus that allowed for super easy maintenance of (used to be) waist-length cat fur =| e least miserable of e failures so far is a tie between some type of Pantene & some type of L'Oreal conditioner:

all e non-Lavenus brands seem to contain only either citric acid or glutamic acid, or none. & some even contain this:

formaldehyde is also found in Organics & Lux conditioners....!! think it is included as an antimicrobial agent (kills just about everything, which is why it is used routinely as a immunohistochemistry fixative in e cat's lab). so much for wearing BSL2 protective gear at work, when people wash their fur with this every day? ;)
