slightly less than 3 months ago e cat thought it was all over, no more wushu for e rest of its 9 lives. somehow it is still training now, albeit with yet another scar added to its collection & skin that is still kinda numb.
[190306] finally done with Memoirs of a Geisha VCD 2. took an entire month to finish one movie. & just as e cat wondered for e nth time how humans can polish off an entire movie in one sitting in a cinema....

cat loves e teru teru bozu sunshine dolls, e little house surrounded by e woods, Yuji's wonderful teacher (if only all kindergarten & primary school teachers were just as tuned in to kids & knew how to take them seriously), e gor-donk....gor-donk sound of e passing train (2-3 carriages long only, like most rural lines), e sunflowers (although e cat once almost sliced its finger to e bone because of them), e clouds....
wondered why both Mio (竹内結子 Takeuchi Yuko) & Dr Noguchi (小日向文世 Kohinata Fumiyo) seemed so familiar....turns out that Takeuchi acted in 「星に願いを。」 Hoshi ni Negaio aka. Night of e Shooting Stars (so-so movie that e cat used to distract itself from e noisiest long haul flight ever) & Kohinata acted in another doctor role in Kyumei Byoto 24 ji series II.

(what else do you get when you put 9 SPS-ians together? =P) on why e need to split SDU & SDS (at first mention, SDS-PAGE came to e minds of e 3 bio postgrads *duh*), parents who prefer that tuition teachers teach their kids about e birds & bees, sex education in Malaysia vs Philippines vs Singapore schools (why is Silent Scream shown only to girls in some schools? it is shown to all girls in all girls' schools, but is it shown to boys in all-boys schools? why do mixed schools that screen it to both girls & boys insist that they watch it separately in different rooms?), gays, transgenders & homosexuality (how there is so much misinformation & misinterpretation of Science put out there by parties with vested interests in skewing opinions), Klinefelter & Turner karyotypes, 'intersexuals' & gender 'assignment' for 'hermaphrodite' babies (failure of Wolffian or Mullerian ducts to degenerate in e foetus & a lot more causes, should it be e choice of parents or left to e child?), & e usual academic stuff....until e dinner started to morph into a mentors' meeting (>_<)"
at times rather heavy-going but there aren't that many whom can provide this level of brain exercise in a country where most chatter centers around handphone models, ipods, HDB flat queues, condo downpayments, movies, DVD releases, COE prices, ERP rates, tour packages, where to eat, where to shop, dunno-what-else *switched off & entered hibernation/standby liao* *shake mouse to wake e cat*
SPS was a great relief in e worm-class university.

TEMED (N,N,N',N'-Tetramethylethylenediamine) spill ta-pao-ed in 3 seconds flat & sealed in biohazard bag before anyone else even got a whiff of it, & e bench escaped unscathed =P kiasee cat lines e table with one layer of 'bench coat' paper + 2 layers of TORK sheets. lab is far too crowded when people keep knocking into you while you're working, & you are e smallest one in e lab....17(? lost count!) people in 2/3 of a normal lab space due to lousy planning & politics *GRRRRRRRRRR*

discovered CINTAN non-fried instant noodles - 0.2g fat vs ~14+g for e usual fried versions (Maggi, CQYD etc). blessing from cat heaven for a busy noodle-loving cat =)) e cat has a lousy family history so it tries to be careful with its pickings from e dustbin.
