[090807] On 9-8-7...the cat was called upon to be its most devious, together with the merciless MUI:
& so the cat packed a few carabenas, a bicycle chain lock, safety pins, file clips, a timer, etc & made its way to the bride's home the night before. MUI brought along Guiness Stout, lipsticks, plastic cups & can't remember what else. The bride's mum decided to have some fun with her son-in-law-to-be & bought some rather powerful type of bittergourd. The other girls would take care of the usual 酸甜苦辣 (sour sweet bitter spicy) bordering-on-inedible edibles the next morning. MUI & the cat made three little cylindrical blocks of ice coloured with dark food dye, each with a piece of thread hanging from one end, one of which was tied to a door key frozen within...a bowl of gooey oatmeal with more keys, coins, carabenas & file clips...& a circular laundry rack with clothes pegs, pail, towel, pots & pans & spoons...& ended up kooning much later than anyone else except the bride's mum who was hunting around for the tea set for the tea ceremony later that morning. Fangus herself prepared the most powerful weapon - fresh tomatoes.
The groom & his posse took rather gamely to everything, including putting up the lang3 sai4 (lion dance) performance using the laundry rack as the 狮头 with the towel clipped on, pail as the drum & pots & pans as cymbals to 采黄 (last minute could only find an orange & a banana but no vege to make it a 采青) - good sport ;) Money changed hands after they kept fishing out everything else except the door key from the oatmeal with a teaspoon, & also to reduce the amount of fresh tomato that the groom had to down. They finally made their way in & got past some English to Hokkien translation that provided some entertainment for the bride's older relatives & barged into the bride's bedroom...only to find one of the two photographers ;) Well, the cat was asked to be devious...
