PARK(ing) Day

210906 is PARK(ing) Day, & metered parking lots in San Francisco are temporarily transformed into parks, complete with grass, flowers, potted plants, deck chairs, stepping stones, benches, umbrellas, etc....wonder if anyone will try to come up with a Japanese Zen garden complete with rocks & raked white gravel, although it might not qualify as 'green space' unless there you add moss & gnarled pines =P

an instant park with flowers has sprouted up in a PARK(ing) lot right outside Pig-pig's office, done by an architectural firm, whose employees are taking turns to sit on e grass, strum their guitar, drink, sun themselves - officially endorsed skiving....an engineer from Pig-pig's firm went out to sprawl on e grass with his coffee mug in hand =)

& passers-by can help them save on PARK(ing) fees by dropping quarters into e PARK(ing) meters - how nice! - turning it into a form of interactive 'installation art' + green movement + community effort.
