[010406] traffic jam outside Kong Meng San Phor Kark See temple on e way to wushu - Qing Ming, which means that cat day is coming - what an association ;)
first time do dan1 pai1 until palm bled....but couldn't find anything sharp on e right shoe that could have caused e wound. plaster kept tearing off with each wu3 hua1 jian4 - & there was no masking tape available (something e cat has used before on its feet & fingers).
[020406] many many new condos popping up in e East = many many moving to this part of e island with their many many cars clogging up East Coast Road (esp outside Katong Family Church), Marine Parade Road, Jalan Eunos, Still Road & e ECP. even East Coast Park Service Road gets jammed on weekday mornings with cars using it as a faster alternative to ECP up till Fort Road.
& many many big fat energy-guzzling SUVs/MPVs (should they be banned to decrease national dependence on oil imports?) that threaten to mow down primary school kids - unwritten rule that e more someone pays for a car, e more (s)he believes (s)he owns e road? kudos to e hardworking school attendant who stands barefoot in e middle of e junction every morning & directs traffic to allow e kids to cross safely. he keeps a firm grip on drivers who care only about their own kids but not other people's kids, so that e list of students from that primary school who have died after being knocked down just beyond e school gates doesn't grow.
long long journey to e west: 40 min bus ride through e East Coast Road jam to e MRT + 40 min MRT ride to Boon Lay + feeder bus....to attend a SPS-ian's baby first month celebration:
suaku cat dunno that traditional stuff is now available in such nice convenient packages....red egg *check* ang ku kueh *check* glutinous rice with dunno what bean/nut *hmmm* fruit tart *?!* maybe e cat is not up to date on traditions =P
e following exchange took place with a current JC teacher....
honours classmate: so you're teaching now?
cat: HAR??!! *tries hard not to burst out laughing - MOUTH IS FULL*
shows how well she knows e cat....study bio must become teacher meh? >_< OK close friends can stop laughing their toes off now ;)
attending events like this (& observing e conversations floating about there) brings to mind what blinkymummy refers to as e BBQ life =| thankfully there was another fellow SPS-ian for company....who said that she has nothing much in common to talk about with many little-red-dotters, when conversations don't venture very far beyond how much are you making, when are you ROM-ing/planning first kid/registering as parent volunteer with brand name primary school, movies, cars, handphones, shoes, clothes, condos, housing & car loans, insurance, credit cards, gym memberships....which is why she thinks she has few friends....ah so-ka....e cat isn't alone in its 'at a loss for conversation' at such events ;)
e cat finally found its perfect mousepad at Jurong Point (less crowded than Parkway Parade - another indication of e mass-migration to e East?), & cleared off other stuff on its to-do/to-buy/to stock-up-on list, in e process justifying e travelling time (ensuring that it did not exceed time spent at e destination) ;)
