rest of mar 2006

[250306] cat's first time at Suntory's Sun with Moon Japanese Dining Cafe @ Wheelock, with with Fangus, SF, WH & two SYs; more about e food here.

e one who has been perpetually late since sec 1 was post-call....& once again she kept falling asleep on buses & getting further & further away from her destination, finally reaching when we were almost done with dessert. one of e SYs has a Korean bf, & confirmed that Korean men as depicted in Korean TV drama serials & movies are not what real Korean men (& e 6 of us) consider men *lol*

defected to Mac's Cafe @ Lido after a brief 'sit-down' at Borders cafe....where another classmate (doing her PhD in another department of e cat's current faculty) bumped into us. rather stunned - it is rare enough to bump into any one of us, let alone 5 (one had left to go back to office....on a Saturday night) at one go!

how many female doctors have non-doctor other halves? who can wait 2-3 hours beyond an appointed meeting time as her post-call drags towards dinner time? & continues dragging on until she cannot make it for dinner in e end? (actually she can, but it is quite impossible to eat while asleep) & repeat for as long as she kena postings that give her up to 2 days off per month? & every time she is asked about getting e actual process of getting married done with & out of e way, reply is 2 years later/after e upcoming BST/internal med/whatever/(in future maybe AST) exams? & when he falls ill, she can only tell him to take 2 panadols & stop whining & then hang up to respond to yet another page? & not kick up a big fat fuss, but complain nicely about not being able to be like 'normal couples'? anyway, ridiculous postings now give e one who has been perpetually late since sec 1 official reasons for being late ;)

[260306] bumped into Phoa at Marine Parade Central. 20 years since ending up in primary 1D together, & years later we worked together on Pre-U seminar in e same JC where we both walked to school....nice feeling to be able to bump into kindergarten & primary school friends in e same neighbourhood after we've all grown up, childhood friends who are still staying in Marine Terrace/Crescent/Drive/Bedok South/Chai Chee/Telok Kurau/Katong/Joo Chiat/Siglap/etc. esp in a time when nobody stays in one place for long (upgrading craze), & Tao Nan has evolved from a neighbourhood school into a brand name that attracts students from afar. despite e switch to e usage of dialect names more than 10 years ago, e cat is just too used to calling Phoa by her hanyu pinyin name =)
