cat like fish, so cat like koi nobori (carp streamers):



in May 2002 e cat went hunting for koi nobori during its Tokyo trip, but had no luck. Children's Day had just passed & there didn't seem to be any left in e shops. & then e cat headed for Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture for some hiking, & spotted Mr Black & Mr Pink sitting on a shelf in a restaurant while feeding on yaki-udon. e lady who runs e place took them off e shelf, removed e newspaper stuffed inside, & insisted that e cat have them, when it asked her if there were any shops there that sold koi nobori....*touched*

Mr Black & Mr Pink's original home - Hippari Dako restaurant, easily recognised by e big fat Japanese kite above e entrance:



Mr Green (above) & Mr Rainbow (below) are from a toy store along Jackson Street in San Francisco's Chinatown:



e store had a whole row of Mr Rainbow's clones hanging outside, think they were used as decorations for that year's gay pride parade ;) Mr Rainbow is almost e same height as e cat....

have also spotted blue koi nobori decorating one or two of e pushcart stalls selling Japanese goods in e malls here, & at e Japanese food stall in e Funan basement foodcourt.
